We’ve made coffee an event, a ritual, ‘let’s meet for coffee’ it’s something I say regularly. There are plenty of places to go for coffee, places that take a little extra time and care over the product. There’s a whole multi-national industry based on it, often I forget just how far my cup of coffee has travelled, who’s been involved in the production, transport, marketing and so on of this small cup.
I wonder if there’s a local alternative we should also be promoting, I’m sure there’s not many coffee beans grown in the UK or tea for that matter. Perhaps we should meet for cheese and biscuits? I’d settle for that.
