30 Things to do this Summer

It’s supposed to be summer here, although it looks like Autumn or maybe early winter, nevertheless there is more daylight hours, so more hours to be filled. Here is my list of 30 things to do this summer, to try and convince myself it’s possible to have a little fun I’ve mixed up all the boring tasks with fun ones – odd numbers are boring and even numbers are fun.

  1. Install the dishwasher
  2. Stay up and watch the sunrise on the beach
  3. Throw out another 10 bags of stuff we don’t need
  4. Make Margaritas
  5. Paint our shower room
  6. Go on a road trip with my boy
  7. Install remaining light fittings – no more bare bulbs
  8. Visit my wee sister and her new house
  9. Clear out the garage
  10. Paddle in the sea
  11. Install a mirror in our shower room
  12. Summer dinner party
  13. Clean the oven
  14. Drink beer in a beer garden
  15. Weed the garden
  16. Go camping
  17. Cut the cats’ claws
  18. Go on holiday to France
  19. Go to the dentist
  20. Catch up with friends over coffee
  21. Hoover under the beds
  22. Have a BBQ
  23. Lay a patio
  24. Swim at the outdoor pool
  25. Empty boxes in the study
  26. Wear summer dresses and skirts
  27. Install a desk in the study
  28. Have a cheese and wine evening in the garden
  29. Scan and Shred heaps of paperwork
  30. Sit in the sun and read

  1. Loved your throw 10 bags of stuff away. I should have thought of that.

  2. Thanks Lisa, it's something I've been doing a lot over the past year, setting myself challenges for stuff to donate or to throw away, it's really made a difference although my house is still full of clutter!

  3. Your list sounds heavenly! I bought stuff to make margaritas just the other day. This weekend's supposed to be hot...maybe the perfect time to mix up a cold one, on the rocks, with salt!

  5. Hi Jackie,
I love the even numbers as well, perhaps I'll ignore the odd ones! Although we made great progress on getting our dishwasher installed last night which is something I know I'm going to love too!

    Have a fabulous summer!

  6. Hi Rubber Chicken Ma!
I've got margaritas on my mind since I returned from Texas where it was really hot, even though it's damp and rainy here, just a sip will remind me of sitting out on a warm evening.
    Enjoy yours,
    April
