In the 90’s When TV was Awesome

When I was a kid TV was a treat, I always remember having a TV but we were only allowed to watch certain things. We didn’t mind, our childhoods were filled with neighbourhood roller skating races, playing in the garden and in the school yard or with My Little Pony or Sindy.

The times we were allowed to watch TV we focused on programs on Saturday mornings, many imports from the country we holidayed in and were fascinated with, the USA.

Saved by the Bell

Sabrina the Teenage Witch

Sister, Sister

Sweet Valley High

Rugrats

When we were a little older we became fascinated with the American shows that dominated out television rather than watching the usual cartoon in Gaelic.

Caroline in the City

Charmed

Cybill

Dawson’s Creek

Home Improvement

What were some of your childhood favourites?

  1. Good list! Home improvement was fun! I sort of feel for the mom in that show now. Never realized before that I was living that sitcom with all these boys in the house!

  2. I loved the Mom in that show, she was amazing, so calm with all that craziness going on around her. The neighbour over the wall that you never saw was pretty funny too.
