This week I’m a Zombie

This week has been a bit of a blur to me, it really feels like it’s Friday, I have to admit. I was in the USA the week before last and for some reason it’s taking me forever to get over it!

I don’t normally have any problems with jet lag and manage to snap into a new time zone within a day, my rule is never sleep unless it’s dark. When I got back last week though I took the next day off and slept in until 1pm, since then I’ve been feeling like a zombie – and it’s been an entire week.

I know the best way to get over it - to sleep at the right time, drink plenty of fluids, eat healthily, exercise etc. etc. but all I want to do is lounge on the sofa with a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit!

The trip to the US was so enjoyable though, mainly due to the amount of food (I did not eat all those donuts – promise!) and margaritas involved, but I thrive on the change of scenery and I get excited about things like a trip to Target or seeing cowboy boots.

Texas Sandwich Texas Donuts

I posted recently about how I become an alternative version of myself when in Texas and it’s kind of true. I think that’s why I find a trip so refreshing it allows me to enter into an alternative life, I can imagine what it would be like to live there.

Still at the end of a couple of flights it’s so good to be home, even if I’m a zombie still on US time and still dreaming of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

  1. I hope you get over being a zombie soon! :) I have to admit, I read those first few paragraphs as quickly as possible so I could get to the pictures and drool over them.

  7. So where exactly did you get those donuts? They must make them better in Texas, cause I haven't seen any that look like that in Colorado...

Hope you're out of your zombie state soon!

  8. Hi Camden,
We got the donuts at a small local store run by a Korean family, it's a really funny place with great donuts. I think Colorado is a much more healthy place to live than Texas though, it's acutally my favourite place in the USA so far.

  11. Hi Moomser,
I hope you are feeling less zombie-like today, I'm sure I'll be fine after the weekend.
Flavour or flavor - these donuts were pretty tasty! I really like that there's differences between the two places, that's what makes it so interesting.
    Have a fabulous Wednesday,

  12. Hi Christi,
Sometimes it's good just to chill out, but I do need to snap out of it soon! I do still have some supplies of US stuff like Reece's Pieces and Pretzel M&M's!

  15. Hi Claire,
I'm trying to do a little more exercise now to make up for it! A mango margarita sounds do good, I'd love to visit Santa Barbara anyway but that just adds another reason to my list!
